Jupiter in Gemini: May 25, 2024 - June 9, 2025
The planet of expansion and abundance returns to Gemini for the first time since 2013. ♊︎
Hi everyone! I hope you’ve been enjoying Gemini season so far. There’s a lot happening in this mutable, air sign this year — most notably, Jupiter’s recent ingress out of Taurus, and into Gemini that took place on May 25. Jupiter spends approximately 1 year in a sign, meaning that each year, you’ll experience Jupiter’s presence in a different area of your birth chart. In astrology, Jupiter governs over faith, trust, luck, and good fortune. Whatever house Jupiter is placed in your natal chart is where resources are (usually) in surplus. As the Greater Benefic, Jupiter offers us wisdom, growth, and limitless opportunity. The sign that Jupiter resides in can better inform us of how well Jupiter’s significations are supported, as well as how Jupiter’s characteristics are expressed.
Over the last year, Jupiter’s made its way through the fixed, earth sign of Taurus. I find that Jupiter transits often point to what’s relevant to us on a collective level, in addition to Saturn’s transits through the signs. During Jupiter’s time in Taurus, there was an increased focus on the quality of food, water, and essential needs. Conversations around inflation and cost of living have taken over my TikTok algorithm, and many of the discussions I have had with my friends revolve around these concerns, too. Things being “overpriced” or “unnattainable” has been something we’ve all been able to relate to in one way or another. Wage gaps talks and phrases like “eat the rich” have become popularized in recent months, with many of us becoming increasingly frustrated at how much of our basic needs are out of reach, while those in more privileged positions indulge gluttonously.
On the other hand, Jupiter’s time in Taurus allowed many of us to slow down, and prioritize intentional pleasure. Taurus, though often considered to be a “boujie” sign in pop astrology, is actually a sign of simplicity. During this transit, we may have been able to find satisfaction in the simple pleasures of life. I personally became increasingly interested in buying flowers for my home during this transit, after overlooking the simplicity of flowers prior. Jupiter in Taurus quite literally encouraged me to stop and smell the roses! This is just one of the ways that Jupiter’s time in a Venus-ruled sign impacted me, and TBH, she will definitely be missed. I am also a teeny bit biased, since Jupiter spent the past year co-present with my natal Venus in my 11th house of friends, social circles, and community.
