A Venus-Jupiter conjunction in Taurus and Jupiter's shift into Gemini spells major shifts for each of the zodiac signs.
Hi all! Happy May, and welcome to this month’s astrology overview. The astrology of May is looking a lot more chill compared to the last two months, with a Venus-Jupiter conjunction taking place in Taurus, before Jupiter enters the chatty, curious sign of Gemini (where it will remain for the next 12 months!) This is also the first month with zero eclipses since February, so the feeling of being in a pressure cooker should slowly start to subside. Not only that, but Mercury’s no longer retrograde — which is why I can finally form (and execute) a cohesive thought. It is technically still in its post-shadow phase (until May 13), so keep that in mind as you try to move any plans or projects forward.
A couple of things I really enjoy about this month’s astrology is that Venus and Mars will both be spending time in the signs of their rulership. Venus entered Taurus back on April 29, and Mars entered Aries on April 30. When planets are in the sign of their domicile, they have the resources necessary to materialize their primary significations. For Venus, this means that experiencing sensual and sustainable satisfaction and pleasure will be effortless and very easy to obtain. Venus rules over all things enjoyable, so you can expect things like food, romance, and artistry to become more of a collective focus and priority this month. This is a placement I have natally, meaning that this is my Venus return, and I for one am really looking forward to the soothing qualities of Venus back in her earthy domain.
She’ll be carrying us through the remainder of Taurus season with an abundance of resources, only amplified by her eventual meetup with Jupiter, the great benefic, on May 23. Though this transit is generally positive (and easily the best transit of the month), Venus will be bonding with Uranus beforehand on May 18, temporarily disrupting the stable, content vibes of this transit. Venus-Uranus conjunctions prompt sudden changes in relationships, as well as a desire for excitement and spontaneity in love. During this brief moment between these two planets, you may find yourself seeking satisfaction in unconventional or remarkable places.
