May 23, 2024: Sagittarius Full Moon + Venus-Jupiter Conjunction
Lots of much-needed Jupiterian energy is coming your way.
Happy Gemini season!
The sun entered the chatty, light-hearted sign of Gemini on May 20, which signifies the end of spring in the Northern Hemisphere as well as an increase in conversation, curiousity, and mentally-stimulating activities. The sun is the first of many planets entering this Mercury-ruled sign over the next few weeks, which I’ll dive into at a later date. For now, we’ve got a Sagittarius full moon taking place on May 23, 2024 at 8:54 AM CST. Ruled by Jupiter, this lunation feels hopeful, grandiose, and probably a little over the top. Sagittarius isn’t a sign that does things halfway — and as a result, there may be an inclination to take some big risks today. Adventurous decisions will have much more appeal, particularly in the Sagittarius-ruled house of your birth chart.
There may also be a restored sense of optimism and willingness to trust that the future holds something promising, even if it’s not right in front of you just yet. Sagittarius is a very future-focused sign, aiming to “go somewhere” — and now, you’ll feel more compelled to take whatever leap of faith is required in order to get closer to your end goal. The great thing about this full moon is that it’s ruled by Jupiter, the most beneficial planet in astrology, which will be exactly conjunct Venus at the very same time the full moon goes exact.
Venus-Jupiter conjunctions are a time of enjoyment, fun, and increased socialization, taking place once every 13 months or so, with the last one happening on March 1, 2023, in Aries. It’s even more fortunate this year since Venus is in her home sign of Taurus, offering additional benefits and support to Jupiter. Conjunctions are planetary aspects that fuse the qualities of two planets — and since Venus and Jupiter are the two most beneficial planets in astrology, it brings an increase in abundance, romance, and creativity.
The Venus-Jupiter conjunction will also be making an exact sextile to Neptune in Pisces, adding an idealistic and nebulous quality to the conjunction. It’s a very good time to make something (art, love, a baby) etc! With Venus and Jupiter both in the fixed, earth sign of Taurus, whatever seeds you plant now are much more likely to have lasting, beneficial results, so choose wisely what you choose to develop! I really like this conjunction for launching a business (esp. if you’re a Leo rising), or becoming exclusive with a romantic partner (Scorpio rising). I wrote about what each of the twelve signs can expect from this conjunction in my May horoscope post, so be sure to check that out!
The Taurus-ruled house in your birth chart is where there is currently an abundance of resources, pleasure, and inspiration. If there’s been a lack of fulfillment in your life as of late, fun and enjoyment can be found here. In my chart, the Venus-Jupiter conjunction is taking place in my eleventh house of friends, community, and networks. I’ve been staying at my best friend’s house over the past few days (Venus *also* rules my fourth house of home and living environment), and it’s really been filling my cup! It’s reminded me that the quality of my relationships with the women in my life is one of the most fulfilling parts of it. Venus rules women, so you may find yourself spending more time with the feminine people in your life today, too.
Let me know in the comments if you’ve been noticing an increase in goodness in the Taurus-ruled house of your birth chart! This conjunction will be most noticeable for Venus-ruled folks (Taurus and Libra risings), as well as Jupiter-ruled folks (Sagittarius and Pisces risings). The Sagittarius full moon should also bring some necessary realizations about your future hopes and dreams into sharper focus now, too — so allow yourself to envision them without limitation.
Whew! As a Leo rising with Taurus ruling my Midheaven in the 10H this is spot on! I just sent my book to be published and I am waiting for the official publication email right now! I already mentioned how I'm feeling confident to apply for this apartment and step boldly into my new life here in California! Last night I was doing some research and found my top four black owned bookstores to network with to get the book in their store and to launch a physical book tour! AH! This gives me so much clarity!
